Adult Medicine Fellowship
The program is accredited by the ACGME and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Physician fellows spend their first inpatient consult rotation at MGH or DFCI/BWH and then rotate throughout the year for a total of four months at each site.
The fellowship consists of the following rotations:
Inpatient consultation (MGH/BWH): 6 1/2 months
Inpatient Palliative Care Unit (BWH): 3 weeks
Hospice experience (personal/rental car required) (CD):
- 6 weeks home visits/Kaplan house
- 4 weeks GIP hospice at MGH/DFCI
Long-term care rotation (CD/VA): 4 weeks
Pediatric palliative care (BCH): 2 weeks
Psycho-oncology (BWH/DFCI): 2 weeks
Outpatient clinic (MGH/DFCI): Weekly half-day session
Elective: 4 weeks
Vacation: 4 weeks
Pediatric Medicine Fellowship

The pediatric fellowship is based at BCH and DFCI and consists of the following rotations:
Inpatient consultation (BCH): 7 months
Ambulatory experience (BCH, DFCI, home visits): 7 months (integrated with inpatient consultation)
Hospice experience (personal/rental car required) (CD): 10 weeks
Inpatient Palliative Care Unit (BWH): 2 weeks
Pediatric long-term care (personal/rental car required) (SHPC Franciscan Children’s Hospital): 4 weeks
Elective: 4 weeks
Vacation: 4 weeks
